How to make Coleslaw

Coleslaw is a simple way of adding vegetables to meals. When catering to a large audience this is one vegetable side dish that does the magic on a rice plate. Coleslaw can be varied as much as you like but the basic ingredients are cabbage and carrots. I am not one to keep things looking and tasting the same. I like to bring that extra something to a dish. For my coleslaw I am adding some dried fruit for sweetness and some protein so that the salad can serve as a meal.

The last time I was catering and people visited I got my version renamed gourmet coleslaw. You can use bacon or chicken in place of the shrimps.I have also added crushed nuts on some occasions. I find Coleslaw quite easy to serve when the crowd is much. There are no worries as to having all the salad ingredients on the plate. With Coleslaw you are likely to get all your ingredients in each spoon served.

When I am  entertaining a lot of people I try to do the prep for most dishes the night before. Slicing up the cabbage and carrots and leaving the fridge saves a lot of time to make the coleslaw. Indeed I get every ingredient in, mix them in a zip lock bag . All you do when ready to serve is mix in the mayonnaise. Enjoy.
